Digital Practice // Year 2 : Semester 2

I intend to explore various artist styles and implement aspects of each in a final piece; focusing on character concept art and portraiture. I will explore combining traditional methods with digital.

Initial Research - Art Style

Russ Mills - Russ Mills combines his ink drawings with digital brushes and vector art

Guy Denning - Fluid strokes combining focused areas of detail with empty, implied areas, allowing the eye to do the rest of the work.


First Practice - Experimenting with implementing the art styles researched, taking notice of the fluid, bold, sketchy styles from the artists as well as the abstract shapes and forms  that they incorporate into their work.
